Uncork the secrets of traditional Tuscan wine in this hands-on class led by an expert sommelier. Learn the history of Tuscany's wine region, gain insight into its significant grapes, and then put your new knowledge to the test as you sample 6 wines that prove why the area is beloved worldwide for its vino.
Learn about Tuscany's wine history, hear it's stories and legends, learn about the most important grapes, about the Italian designation system, and a hint about food pairings, too.
The wines that you will most likely taste:
Vernaccia di San Gimignano
Vino Nobile di Montepulciano
Brunello di Montalcino
a Super Tuscan
Embark on a journey into the world of wine, travelling back in time to the 13th century. Learn about the origins of Chianti Classico, the region's most internationally renowned wine, and the strict rules that must be followed for it to retain its name. And hear what makes Brunello the top of Italy's famous wines.
With your new knowledge to help you further appreciate the wine, sample 6 of the area's most classic styles. Begin with the dry and crisp Vernaccia white wine, and then move on to bolder reds. Swirl, sniff and sip Chianti Classico, Vino Nobile, and a beautiful Brunello. Along the way, your Sommelier shares tips for pairing each of these wines with food, leaving you able to drink wine like a pro by the end of class.
This class is for anyone interested in knowing more about Tuscany's wines. You will leave the class knowing your way around the most important Tuscan wines and feeling more comfortable selecting wine at a restaurant and talking about them with friends.
