Already Romans considered the area where this Vermentino Nero is produced an excellent site for growing grapes. A blend of Vermentino Nero with a small amount of Massaretta, this turns out to be Emanuele's most unique wine. The winery is in a small building along the winding road to Frosinone, a little village that borders Liguria and from which you can clearly see the mountains and the Mediterrenean sea.
It's always a little challenging to describe grape varieties that are a little obscure. But imagine the color of a Pinot Noir and the spice of a Gamay, and we're getting a little closer. However, of course Vermentino Nero has its own personality mainly reminding of red fruits and peppery spices. The tannins are good and the wine has a great potential for ageing.
