Tenuta Cocci Grifoni is a family-owned winery with roots in farming in this area in southern Le Marche that spans over a century. Presently led by a generation of women, the winery has always been on the leading edge of sustainability in the agriculture but also when it comes to packaging. The turn for the winery and the region was when the local white varieties, Pecorino and Passerina, recently got a place in the spotlight, nationally and internationally.
The “Delle Alberate Vineyard” is home to native grape Passerina. This variety was recovered from the ancient “grapes married with trees”, a traditional farming practice that allowed the vines to climp on to tree trunks.
Made by the Charmat-method, the nose of this sparkling is intense with floral notes of white, fresh acacia flowers, fresh apples and pears, and a hint of white peaches with a light note of grapefruit.
