The Ruge brothers grow only 5 hectares of Glera in Santo Stefano di Valdobbiadene, an incredibly beautiful wine region, cradle of the Prosecco wine. Together with Conegliano, Valdobbiadene is the DOCG region for this otherwise quite common sparkling, where wines are handcrafted after growing on the steep foothills of the Alps.
This tank method ancient Prosecco-style with a "fondo" (sediments) comes from the family vineyards that are taken care of manually. The Ruge brothers personally oversee all the operations from sorting of the grapes to the fermentation with selected yeasts, ageing on the lees and finally the second fermentation to obtain a sparkling tank method. The wine is dry and very delicate with flavors of pears, apples and white flowers and have a very fine mousse.
