Enzo & Claire started their vineyard situated a stone's throw Northeast of Florence, just beyond Fiesole and curiously an area where it's not packed with vineyards. The couple started from scratch building a cute and high tech winery right into the rock, and subsequently planted Sangiovese, Teroldego (which is typical of Northern Italy) right around the house. Their hill now flourishes with vineyards and they have also planted Colorino and Canaiolo that are native to Tuscany.
This bright ruby medium bodied red is made mainly from Sangiovese with a little addition of Canaiolo, so a real traditional Tuscan blend. It's got a lovely bouquet of ripe red and black fruit and the reminiscence of Mediterrean scrub.
