The Selvapiana winery is situated in Chianti Rufina, the northernmost subregion of Chianti well into the Appennine mountains to the northeast of Florence. Selvapiana is one of the most historical wineries in the region famous for its very high quality wines. The winery is owned by siblings Federico and Nicoletta whose father managed the property during his whole life, adopted by the noble family who owned it and didn't leave any heirs.
This Riserva of Chianti Rufina is a cru coming from the Bucerchiale vineyard. An older vineyard that benefits from the best exposition to produce perfectly ripe and complex berries. The selected wine for Riserva ages for longer in the winery in order to reach complexity and longevity and is expected to live for 10-15 yrs.
