Lorenzo is a young Tuscan who's transplanted in Basilicata in a relatively cool climate region where the grape Aglianico thrives in the shadow of an old inactive volcane called Vulture. The winery is organic from the getgo, and produces wines with structure, finesse and elegance.
Made in a gentle, infusion style to avoid extraction. Everything is very instinctive, with pump-overs, minimal additions of S02 and a single racking being the only interventions. Siir tends to come from the youngest vines and is an excellent introduction to Aglianico.
